DMCI Homes President Alfredo R. Austria said the company’s hot-selling properties is a result of the country’s first Quadruple A builder-developer’s continuing campaign to instill a culture of quality among its employees.
Austria made the pronouncement during the relaunching of the company’s select quality programs and awarding of winners of employee-engaging projects recently as he revealed that DMCI Homes is poised to hit its P26 billion 12-month sales target this year in just the first half of 2017. This year’s edition of Sikat, Kapit-bisig and Tigbayon (Enhancement of Existing Design Features) were launched while quarterly winners of Tumpak and Angat as well as employees who recently passed the board examinations were all recognized during the event held last June 8 at the Multipurpose Hall of DMCI Homes Corporate Center. “It really speaks volumes because it only means that a lot of people believe in DMCI Homes. Many people believe DMCI Homes offers the best value because the money they will be spending will get the best quality in return,” Austria said in his speech. “So it is very important, moving forward, for us to further cultivate our promise of quality,” he stressed. The DMCI Homes president thus lauded the latest batch of awardees of the company’s quality programs as well as employees who recently passed their respective licensure examinations for their unceasing drive for self-improvement. “Quality begins in each one of us. We all have our own weaknesses, we all have our shortcomings. We all need to constantly improve ourselves to be able to render better service, better quality products especially in a very competitive atmosphere that we have in today’s world,” Austria told the awardees and board passers. Spearheaded by the Quality Council, all quality programs primarily aim to inculcate a culture of quality in the company and at the same time encourage employees to emulate DMCI Homes’ core values on integrity, excellence, customer orientation and interdependence.

![]() “A quality structure is something to be admired and learned from.” This is what DMCI Holdings Inc. Founder and Chairman Emeritus David M. Consunji, the known “Father of Contemporary Construction Industry” in the country once said. He stressed that DMCI always aims to build quality projects that serve as milestone in the struggle of humanity for better structures. This endless pursuit of product quality and excellence that was laid by its founder, is the driving force behind the institution of Quality Programs at DMCI Homes to motivate employees to always meet or exceed customer satisfaction and ensure excellence at work. Recently, DMCI Homes concluded its latest quality programs – Tigbayon Design Concept Competition, Tumpak and Haraya – which were basically group competitions that encouraged employees to generate new tropical design concepts, promote construction quality management, and express creativity in the form of art. Launched simultaneously in 2016, these programs primarily aimed to inculcate a culture of quality in the company and at the same time encourage to emulate core values on integrity, excellence, customer orientation and interdependence among employees. Spearheaded by DMCI Homes’ Quality Council, successful entries were awarded cash prizes and tokens in a simple ceremony early this year. Tigbayon Tigbayon, the Cebuano term for conceptual framework, is a group project design competition which aimed to generate fresh design concepts or ideas to further enhance current DMCI Homes brands. Through the competition, the company hopes to discover untapped creative talents across departments. The Daintree Tower project of Jane Corpuz, Krish Olleta, Ralph Hung, Beth Bautista, Don Guevara, Renz Ilao, Desmond Carlos, Virgilio Sebastian and Glenn Trinidad from the Project Development and Landscape departments was chosen as winner among the four entries. Tumpak Also recognized during the event last February 17 were First Quarter winners of Tumpak, a Construction quality management competition which targets to recognize projects that ensure compliance to quality standards of DMCI Homes and applicable construction standards. Fairway Terraces (Category A) and Brio Tower (Category B) were chosen as winners for the Compliance Consciousness bracket. Fairway Terraces also won in Category A, and Zinnia Towers in Category B, in the Quality Responsiveness bracket. Haraya Meanwhile, winners of the Haraya wall mural contest were earlier recognized during the corporate Christmas party. Six teams participated in the competition which served as a venue for employees to express their thoughts on quality at DMCI Homes through art. The overall winner was a collaboration of the Legal and Finance departments—Rosse Tee and Lee Datoy (Remedial); Emmanuel Fuellas, and Rod Stevenson Damian (Legal); Marcelino Caguioa and Ryan Ponte (Treasury); Jhoana Fe Lorenzana and Lei Anne Villavicencio (Credit and Collection); and Ruth Rocha and Rhazelle Felices (Financing). The winning mural had the theme “Balintataw ni David (David’s Vision),” inspired by DMCI Homes’ Brand Story, “The Hero of the Underserved.” The art piece showcased the company’s dedication to build a cocoon of good living to Alfonso, the underserved middle manager. These Quality Programs not only exhibit the ingenuity of our employees but also prove the growing culture of quality at DMCI Homes. |
